If you have a webcam and an Oculus Rift, Angels of Valhalla is worth trying. In this game, you take on the role of a bird, flying around a floating island while collecting green stones.
The graphics are solid, but the real standout is the control system. You can switch between first- and third-person perspectives, depending on your preference. To play, you position yourself in front of both the DK2 camera and a standard webcam. By moving your arms like wings, you steer through the air. The controls feel surprisingly natural and require little to no practice.
Even with a low-resolution webcam, tracking performs reliably. This aligns with earlier VR setups, where external cameras are used to track movement in space.
There is a downside, though: physical fatigue. Holding your arms out for extended periods can be tiring.
If you don’t have a webcam, there’s an alternative. The “Surfer” mode uses positional tracking instead. By leaning left, right, forward, or backward, you control your movement, making it a less physically demanding way to play.
