Most demos on Oculus VR are just some try-outs from developers who share their art with us. Some demos are nice, some are crap and a few demos are extremely well done. Mythos of the World Axis is one of those perfect demos! It will amaze you by its beauty, really stunning lightning effects and easy to learn gameplay. Put that together with a perfect cooperation with the VR headset and you have a great game!
Mythos of the World Axis is built in the Unreal Engine 4 and will take you to a beautiful dark unground world. In the demo you have the task to light a beacon to honor the gods. That sounds easier than it is. You have to find your way through the dark world using the light of your torch . With the Y button you create a marker. You can use this marker to teleport back if you fail or go the wrong way and can’t go back.
The game uses all the VR technologies very well. You’ll have to stand up, look aside and everything has perfect graphics without any remarks. We can’t wait to get our hands on the final release of Mythos of the World Axis or a even better a big publisher or development studio like Activision Blizzard pick this up and create an even bigger title. This game disservice it!
Mythos of the World Axis is developed by Ats Kurvet (known for his work on Ryse: Son of Rome). You can check the trailer and the gameplay video below.
As an Oculus cv1 owner who has been playing BF4 and GTA V on oculus as well as a lot of demos, I’d say this game is the single best thing I’ve done on oculus and I hope they make a full game because I could literally just spend hours in this weird cult like off-brand version of reality.
The newest demo on the Oculus Store is even better! Have you checked that one out?
The one from the store on Oculus opens up Steam Vr, also the xbox controller doesn’t respond to movements and such.. too bad.. I’m in the game but can’t play.
