One of the most intense experiences in virtual reality are the roller coaster rides. It demonstrates all necessary parts to experience the possibility’s with VR. You can look around freely, Trackers can see you bending over and most people feel there stomach when going in a looping or curves. We have seen and tried a lot of coasters and funfair attractions and made a list of the best experiences you can find.
- Cyber Space
Cyber Space is a game where the brains get significantly shaken up. Once you put on your goggles, end up in the chair of the so-called ‘Pendulum ride’. This chair is connected to a big arm that will spin you into the air. This ride is definitely our number one, because it offers the biggest feeling experience. Your stomach will turn guaranteed!
- Helix
The second ride in our top five is Helix. This coaster is based on the original Helix roller coaster at Liseberg in Gothenburg, Sweden. The track is almost 1,4 km (4500 feet) long and the ride lasts for two minutes! With speeds up to 100 km/h (62 mph) this is an intense coaster, even in VR!

- Roller Coaster VR from FIBRUM
This is a coaster for who wants to try a nice coaster with Google Cardboard. The game is made for the FIBRUM HMD, but can also be used with other glasses. It’s available in de Apple App Store and on Google’s Play Store. It doesn’t feel as intense as Cyber Space or Helix, but it’s the best alternative for smartphone VR owners.
- Swivel Gun! VR Log Ride
Although Swivel Gun isn’t an extreme ride it is really fun to play. You have to knock barrels off the docks by blasting them with a swivel gun on your coaster. Score as much points as you can. This is a good example of a coaster that can only be realizes in virtual reality. Wouldn’t it be fun to have this in the real world!?
