The Poppy 3D app is a companion to Poppy, an iPhone accessory that lets you capture and share the world the way you really experience it: in three dimensions.
Poppy uses mirrors and lenses to capture and play back stereoscopic 3D photos and videos. The app makes it easy to take pictures using Poppy, and for viewing side-by-side stereograms.
The app offers several features optimized for use with Poppy:
– Create animated Poppy GIFs from your Poppy photos, to share with people whether or not they have a Poppy
– Share your images and Poppy GIFs directly from within the app
– View the best and most recent Poppy GIFs and stereo images shared by the Poppy community
– Full-screen preview, with controls dimmed so they don’t get in the way when you are composing a shot.
– Distortion correction (the angled mirrors introduce a slight keystoning effect, this software corrects for that)
– Camera calibration (to adjust horizontal offset to account for idiosyncrasies of the particular iPhone and Poppy)
